From Paris Roissy Airport to Lyon then Roanne by Train
If you are are leaving
from Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport by direct TGV train to Lyon Part-Dieu or
Perrache station.
Take free shuttle bus from
Charles de Gaulle Terminal I (aérogare 1) to Terminal II (aérogare 2) & go to
Charles de Gaulle Aérogare II TGV & RER train stations. TGV train goes direct
to Lyon Part-Dieu train station (or to Lyon- Perrache station). Trip takes 2 to
2 ½ hours.
From Lyon, take the regional train to Roanne. Train times from Charles de Gaulle airport by TGV to Lyon: 6.59am, 10.05am, 11.25am, 1.13pm, 5.05pm, 6.46pm, 20.48pm.
(Also occasional direct TGV
trains from Paris-Massy train station near Orly airport to Lyon).

1) take
a taxi.
2) take
the Roissy bus RATP No 351 (Roissy to Paris from 6am to 11 pm), shuttle bus from
the airport to Place de l’Opéra (rue Scribe, Paris 8ème). Departure every 15
minutes from aérogares 2, T9 or 1. Price for the ticket is about 6€10c. Trip
takes 45 to 60 minutes.
3) take
the Air France shuttle bus from the airport to Place de l’Etoile (avenue
Carnot). Leaves from terminal 1 porte 34 / terminal 2 hall C porte 2, hall B
porte 2, hall F porte 007 every 15 minutes. Price for the ticket is about 9€91.
Trip takes 30 minutes.
4)
Take the “Roissy Rail” bus to Roissy Station and then take RER B to Paris.
Different stops possible : Gare du Nord, Châtelet les Halles, St Michel
or Denfert Rochereau.
5)
Bus-train connection (the cheapest way but cumbersome with heavy luggage). From
Aéroport Roissy-Charles de Gaulle (Paris international airport)
take Free airport shuttle bus that leaves from Aerogare 1 arrival level 28,
Aérogare 2A gate 5, Aérogare 2B gate 6 or Aerogare 2D gate 6. At Roissy train
station, take the RER B3 train line to central Paris then take Metro to
Paris-Gare de Lyon station:
Price is about 6€86 (metro
included). Leaves every 15 minutes from 5am to 12 midnight, trip takes 30 to 40
minutes.

train you have three possibilites :
a) take
TGV TRAIN from Central Paris via Lyon Part-Dieu or Lyon-Perrache stations to
Roanne :
Either take TGV train from
Paris-Gare de Lyon station (in central Paris) to Lyon Part-Dieu train station
at: 10am, 12MD, 2pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm (Paris to Lyon takes 2 hours).

Fast easy change of trains at St Germain des Fossés for Roanne. Total time
Paris-Roanne: 4 hours (cheaper and more scenic route than on the TGV train)
c) TGV train from Paris to Roanne via
Le Creusot-Montchanin TGV station leaves Paris at:
7.30am, 6pm. (Fast change after one and a half
hours at Le Creusot for the TGV bus for Roanne. Follow signs out of the station
for TGV bus. Buy the TGV bus ticket WITH the TGV train ticket IN Paris).Total
time Paris-Roanne: 3 hours.

You can rent an automatic car with Avis at the airport but we recommend
that if you can drive a manual car then it’s easier to pick the car up in
Roanne.

: follow signs for Lyon on A43, then follow blue signs for Lyon on A43
Take “péripherique sud - téo “ following signs for Saint Etienne-Marseille.
Continue the follow green signs for Saint Etienne-Marseille. Then follow the
yellow signs for Paris-Gerland.
Then follow A6 Paris-Roanne. Stick to right lane as you go under the overpass
as you will vere right and keep following signs for Paris-Roanne. Follow green
signs for Roanne on N7.
* From LYON City
follow A6 direction Villefranche/Paris/Roanne, then N7 to Roanne. Takes
1hour15minutes

Coming from the north of Paris then heading south via Lapalisse -Moulins - Nevers Back to top
Coming from Paris, take the A6 turnpike:motorway, follow signs “direction LYON”, the A77 turnpike/motorway, then the N7 highway (direction NEVERS). Follow the N7 to Roanne. You will drive through Moulins, Lapalisse, St Forgeux Lespinasse, St Germain Lespinasse.Then you will enter Mably. Drive straight ahead (follow signs for ROANNE) until you see the “Toyota” garage and the “Conforama” store on your right. Then you take the roundabout (“Mc Donalds” is on your left). Don’t follow the signs for ROANNE !!! Follow the signs for LYON / ST ETIENNE (N7). Here you will get onto a 4-lane road. Drive straight ahead (ignore exit 65!) and up onto the overhead bridge, then down the overhead bridge and immediately take exit 66 “ROANNE-PORT”. At the traffic lights, turn left and follow signs for “MATEL”. Take the right lane, keep on going straight ahead. You will pass the “Demurger”factory on your left, then the ”STAR” bus depot on your right. Continue until you see the municipal camping grounds on your left. Don’t turn right into rue Georges Mandel! Take the little road straight in front of you (called Allée du Chateau de Matel) with a no entry sign. Follow signs for ECOLE DES TROIS PONTS. Drive straight ahead for 100 metres along the alleyway of trees up to the “Chateau” entrance.
Coming from Lyon
Coming from Lyon, take the N7 following signs for PARIS / ROANNE. You will drive
through L’Arbresle, Tarare, St Symphorien de Lay, Neaux. After Neaux, keep on
following the N7 up to a big intersection. There, once again, follow signs for
PARIS / ROANNE. The N7 becomes a 4 lane road. Drive straight ahead. Pass exits
68 and 67. After the bridge over the Loire river, take exit 66 “ROANNE /
MONTCEAU LES M.” Take the right lane up to the traffic lights then turn right
direction MATEL / PARC DES SPORTS. Stay on the right lane.
You will pass the “STAR” bus depot on your right. Continue straight ahead until you see the municipal camping ground on your left. Don’t turn right into rue Georges Mandel! Take the little road straight in front of you (called Allée du Chateau de Matel) with a no entry sign. Follow signs for ECOLE DES TROIS PONTS. Drive straight ahead for 100 metres along the alleyway of trees up to the Chateau's entrance.
Coming from Clermont-Ferrand
Coming
from Clermont-Ferrand, take the A72 turnpike/motorway following signs for LYON /
St ETIENNE. Ignore exit 5 “ROANNE par D8”; take the following exit for ROANNE.
There you take a short section of the future A89 freeway.
At the end of this section, turn left and take the N82 road
for ROANNE. After Vendranges, keep on following the N82 up to a big
intersection. Take the ROANNE / PARIS direction. There
you get onto a 4-lane road. Drive straight ahead; pass exits 68 and 67. After
the bridge over the Loire river, take exit 66 “ROANNE / MONTCEAU LES M.” Take
the right lane up to the traffic light then turn right direction MATEL / PARC
DES SPORTS. Stay on the right lane. You will pass the “STAR” bus depot on your
right. Continue until you see the municipal camping ground on your left. Don’t
